Job Description

The challenging, diverse and busy role of the Recruitment Team Leader has the overall responsibility of supporting the recruitment team in finding the right apprentice for the right employer. You will also be using your recruitment experience to place apprentices too.

 

You will use your coaching and supporting skills and experience to guide your team to achieve specific key performance indicators (KPI’s) and use role model behaviour to influence you all to achieve.

 

The apprentice recruitment process starts at engagement, continues through advertising and placement and maintains full interaction and customer service for both employer and apprentice candidate. You are also responsible for the apprentice set up within our training provision.

 

This role has the account management of other training providers and education settings, so that we are able to take full advantage of signposting and apprenticeship recruitment events.

 

Working within the overall sales team, to produce supporting reports for presentation the senior managers and the board, you will also have a process for capturing the candidate experiences and work to improve them.

 

You will also hold the responsibility of maintaining full interaction and customer service for an apprentice candidate, through your team and own interaction with them; this includes the capture of the candidate experience and making improvements for them.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Support and guide the Recruitment Team through regular communication, coaching and training sessions.
  • Help set KPI’s for department and complete KPI reporting.
  • Create and present reports to the Board of Directors to support the Sales team with their reporting.
  • Regionally support the growth of the department through its growth to include other apprenticeship standards and employers across the UK.
  • Manage accounts for training providers, sixth-forms, colleges and secondary schools.
  • Continuously, capture candidate experience for the apprentice recruitment, talent pool and after placement (first 6 weeks) to identify strengths and areas for improvement, that are then embedded to maintain the first class experience expected.
  • Complete sample audits on the department for employment legal requirements such as paperwork, the rights to work and other eligibility.
  • Support of the Recruitment Team, to complete placements and to maintain knowledge.

 

Your KPI’s

  • Establish relationship with key stakeholders – business and candidate.
  • Pre-six-week withdrawals to be less than 10%.
  • Signpost applicants that are unsuccessful into talent pool.
  • School, recruitment fairs, events and engagement activities to be supported.
  • Apprentice Progression rate greater than 45%.
  • Candidate pipeline will be 2 x that of the vacancy advertising rate.
  • Recruit an Apprentice and Relevant Job Board posting to be updated and managed with all new roles and candidates to be reviewed within 2 working days.
  • ZOHO and Talent Portal CRM updated and management. To be completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Effective and supportive management of team members – their business and personal objectives.
  • Safeguarding – read and abide by the EMA Training safeguarding policy for students.
  • Prevent – read and abide by the EMA Training Prevent policy for students.
  • Understand and adhere to EMA Health and Safety policies to achieve 98% attendance.
  • 5% reduction in energy.
  • Reduction of business mileage by 25%.

 

Essential Skills

  • Previous recruitment experience, being able to evidence knowledge of and also success in end to end recruitment management.
  • Proven ability to manage and drive performance of yourself and others.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Proven coaching experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage your time effectively and work on your own initiative.
  • Excellent analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Report creation and delivery skills.
  • Strong skills in budget development and oversight
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organisational control of the operations
  • Ability to deal with conflict management and business negotiation processes

Desirable Skills

  • A full drivers’ licence, access to own vehicle
  • Experience within the apprenticeship recruitment sector, including knowledge of the systems involved (such as Recruit an Apprentice, DAS and Apprenticeship Service).
