Bondholder’s Wytech & EMA Training Supporting Technical Apprenticeships in Derbyshire

It’s safe to say that IT Support companies and IT departments have had their work cut out as of late. Businesses have become increasingly reliant on their IT infrastructure, connectivity and collaborative technologies such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

The necessity for many people to work from home has required organisations to source laptops by the boatload, all of which need to be re-imaged with the necessary software and systems for them to enable effective home working. This requires manpower.

Based on Ednaston Park near Ashbourne, Bondholder, Wytech Ltd have experienced just this, and at the beginning of the year partnered with fellow Bondholder, EMA Training, to recruit and train an IT Support Apprentice.

Cara started an apprenticeship with Wytech at the beginning of February, turning a passion for technology into a career and whilst Cara would have expected an interesting and challenging role, nobody could have anticipated what was to come in the subsequent months!

Managing Director of Wytech, Mark Jones commented:

“EMA Training came to see us here and really took the time to understand our business and the type of individual we were looking to hire. Cara was recommended to us by EMA and the team were able to provide us with a clear pen-portrait from a personal and technical perspective; and we agreed that Cara was a great fit. Cara has proven to be an exceptional employee and has very quickly become pivotal to our support team as we continue to ensure business continuity for our clients.’

Chief Operating Officer of EMA Training, James Stafford added:

“With GCSE and A Level grades that would have turned heads at the top universities, it was clear that Cara was an exceptional candidate from the outset. The university pathway, however, wasn’t for Cara, who felt as though learning on the job whilst earning a salary would be the preferred option. Cara is fortunate to be placed with a supportive employer, who ensure they provide an environment of nurture, support and challenge, which has continually proved to be a winning combination for successful apprenticeship programmes.”
